Today, I want to take you on a little journey with me of just a typical day on social media.
I am going to share with you the exact steps I go through from start to finish of wanting to connect with someone I see on Facebook.
Are you ready for this adventure through a typical day with me on social media?
I open my laptop and go straight for one of the many Facebook groups I like to hangout in just to see what’s going on.
I’m scrolling and scrolling and scrolling when someone happens to catch my eye!
I love the graphic.
I love the headline.
I read the post.
The post is great and now I want to know more about this person so I head over to their profile to see more about what they do.
I get to their profile and BOOM!
There’s nothing there.
They have their profile locked up like Fort Knox's and I can’t see a dang thing about them or their business.
Look, I get it social media makes it sooooo easy for everyone in the world to creep on us and leaves us with little to no privacy but if you have an online business and social media is your main marketing platform than you have to allow some information open to the public.
If I see a profile that gives no information I immediately exit that profile and never think about it again. Just think of how many paying clients those people have possibly lost because of their profiles not sharing their information.
I don’t want you to lose money because of your profile and I know that you don’t want to lose money because of your profile so I put together some tips to share with you how to optimize your profile so others can see what you do and want to work with you.
3 Tips To Optimize Your Facebook Profile
*All the information we are covering here can be located in your “about me” on your personal profile.*
Work and Education.
You don’t want to put your entire resume with every place you have ever worked. You just want to link it to your business page where others can see your biz page and check it out.
Make sure that the work history is public not private.
Contact and Basic Info.
This section is where you need to put all of your site links. There is a website link and social link space.
In this area I put my website, Facebook group, Facebook page, Instagram, and Pinterest. You can put any links you have here but you do have to put your Facebook links in the website link section not the social media link section because it will not let you put Facebook in the social media link section.
Details About You.
If you scroll down you will see a “details about you” section. This section allows you to put a brief statement about yourself and your business.
These 3 areas are the most important parts of your personal profile so that visitors know what you do and where to find you on social media without having to friend request you.
Edit these areas and see the difference in results you get with attracting and converting your raving fans and paying cash.
Do you check out other people’s profile online?
