How To Generate More Results With A Strong Coaching Strategy

EVERYTHING MUST HAVE A PURPOSE!


The only way to know what you are doing each day and how you are going to do it is to build a master plan/strategy for your business.


Today, I am going to share with you the 6 must have elements of a result based coaching strategy for your business.

6 MUST HAVE ELEMENTS TO BUILD YOUR COACHING STRATEGY

(In no particular order)



YOUR IDEAL CLIENT


The most important part of any strategy is to know who you are talking to or targeting.


Personally, I hate the word targeting when you are referencing customers, clients or people in general so throughout this article we will reference this as talking to rather than targeting. :)


Clarity around your ideal client is over half the battle so if you know who you are talking to and who you are wanting to attract than the rest of your strategy is pretty easy to create.


So before you move forward with the other parts of your business strategy make sure to spend some time and focus on WHO you are talking to in your business.


Here are a few questions/prompts that I like to use when I am journaling my ideal client:


What type of business does she have? (Service or product based)

How long has she been in business? (Just starting or been at for a little while)

Is she consistent with her business efforts?

Is she working a 9-5?

Is she a stay at home mom?


These are a few questions I ask myself when I am working on my ideal client. These questions should help get you started.



TYPE OF CONTENT


What type of content are you going to share with your audience?

There are so many different types of content in the online space that it is really important that you have a solid list of the different types of content you want to create and share.


The easiest way to do this is by starting with the types of content you like to consume online.


Here are a few different types of content you can share with your ideal clients:


Written.

Long written.

Short written.

Quotes.

Behind the scenes.

Video.

Live Streams.

Audio.

Infographic.


Obviously, I could go on and on about the different types of content you can create and share online but this list should give you a good idea and place to get started.


* You can use your journal to brainstorm your list of content you can share.


TIMES OF DAY


Another strong part of your coaching strategy is WHEN you want to share your content.


I know a lot of other coaches will tell you that it’s all about the TIME you share it that matters but personally I think it matters more that you are consistently showing up and sharing rather than stressing yourself with the exact time of when you share it. Once you create that consistency you can then decide if you think it’s important enough to focus on the time you are posting/sharing.


For me it’s all about consistency and so I find it to be less stressful and easier to actually do if I focus on my timing like this….


MORNING: Before noon my time (usually no later than 11 am)

AFTERNOON: Anytime between 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm my time

EVENING: Between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm my time


By doing it like this I can easily schedule in times I should take a break and stretch if I am having a heavy work day. I can do it in between my client calls and allows me to plan a little better for my day.


* I also schedule a lot of the post that can be scheduled that way I know it’s done for the day and I can focus on other things like engagement which is part of my daily routine/strategy but we will talk about that another day in another post.


YOUR MARKETING PLATFORMS


Here is another part of your coaching strategy…. MARKETING!


Knowing where you are going to share your offers, freebies, and content is a must have in your strategy if you want to actually get results. If you don’t have a marketing plan then you are going to struggle with getting results or at the very least knowing where and how you are getting the results you are getting.


In order to do this you must first start with your core marketing platform. For me its Facebook!


I am always on Facebook.

I enjoy Facebook.

I find it easy and enjoyable to show up each day on Facebook.


Now, Facebook may not be the platform for you and that is fine but make sure you are picking a platform you enjoy spending your time on.


Once you define your core platform you can then add your other platforms to it. (Example: Instagram, Email Marketing, Pinterest, Twitter, Etc.)


*** START OUT FOCUSING ON ONE PLATFORM BEFORE ADDING IN OTHER PLATFORMS ***



YOUR PURPOSE


This area of a coaching strategy I think is one of the most overlooked areas ever and is one of the biggest reasons coaches don’t have a clue what they are doing or why they are doing it.


If you don’t have a purpose for your coaching strategy than you will struggle to know where to focus your efforts and where you want to see the results plus not to mention that you will not know what is working and what is not working.


So what do I mean by having a purpose?


Well, let me share with you the purpose of my coaching strategy and then you will have a better understanding of your purpose.


Everything I do in my business revolves around one purpose….. GROW MY FACEBOOK GROUP!


Every freebie I create and share…. Drives them back to my group.

Every connection I make….. Invite them to join my group.

Every email I send….. Talks about and drives them back to my group.

Every blog post.

Every content piece.

Everything I do each day is with the sole purpose of driving traffic back to my group.


So what is your purpose? What are you wanting to focus on for growth and sales?


Your Instagram?

Your email list?

Your YouTube channel?


What is your daily focus? Where are you wanting people to go when they find you?


Sales


What you share and how you share it and where you share it are all super important elements of an effective coaching strategy but none of these elements are needed if you do not have a plan/strategy around selling.


I know this probably sounds crazy because we aren’t supposed to show up online with the intention and focus around SELLING! --- This is BS!


We should not make our primary focus and intention online to show up and sell but you should always be selling.


You should sell daily.

You should sell often.


You should be selling all day every day…. NO EXCUSES!


That’s why it’s important to make sure you spend some time and create your sales strategy for your coaching business.


What will you sell?

How will you sell?

When will you sell?

Where will you sell?

Who will you sell to?


Make sure you are answering all of these questions when you create the sales strategy part of your overall coaching strategy.


*** Remember: Selling isn’t gross! Selling isn’t bad! Selling is not selfish! Selling is needed and wanted by your ideal client! ***


Now, before I wrap this up, I do want to mention that I create my coaching strategy for like 90 days at a time and break it up into 30 day sections that way I can review and tweak my strategy as I go along to ensure that it is effective and result driven.


Everything is meant to be changed so don’t feel like you need to create a lifetime plan here. Just start small and focus on right now and what you want to achieve rather than 5 yrs from now.
